Out again this morning unfortunately missing the ever comical company of Tony (Wallsendo) who no doubt will read this soon .......... he`s in a tent, in a field, at Glastonbury .... hopefully not wet this year but we`ll see. All the best Tony you missed a good un today (as you expected 
)
Still, Sixfootsteve and myself were out fairly early at 5.00am (but not early enough to beat bert and his crew who must have left last night ! )
A bit windy today to say the least but at least it was a westerly so the sea was fairly flat.
Didn`t spend any time at pier ends today as it was bottom of the tide so went straight to 3 mile wrecks.
Great start with mackerel bait coming in in twos and threes (good sized as well) thereafter used aforementioned mackerel on a variety of lures / end tackle and it was fish after fish , drift after drift. Almost matched last weeks fabulous day out in as much as there was no thought as to where to go next as the wreck we were on had plenty of fish.
Early on I got Double headers of cod but unfortunately (and I couldn`t sneak them off in time) also double headers of Scotchies.
Steve was on top form once again with scotchie after scotchie coming aboard (he too had double headers today A nice little ling and ............. a scotchie).
Didn`t quite exhaust the wreck we were at, but curiosity got the better of us, if we went to last weks superb wreck would it fish the same this week ....... ?
well, off we went to find out ........... and the answer
NO ! it was all quiet there today, but, to be honest I`m pleased because thats what makes those days , and the great sport of fishing, so good.
So by now we had one box full and it was time to fill the second. The wind was getting up a bit so we opted to go inshore and try for a bit of cover from the wind ............... the more inshore we got the worse the wind got, it was blowing a hoolie by the time we got inshore of the yellow can at St Marys.
Met up with a couple of friends there who (Andy) pointed us in the direction of a certain little hole he`d been fishing well .........
Whoopee deep red cod after deep red cod fell to green fishy lures (in fact double headers once again).(Thanks Andy)
In the same spot Steve came across his personal favourite catch of the day a beautiful decent sized wrasse ......
All in all another fabulous day out with exceptionally good company.
Tally for the day was :-
12 cod 3lbd - 5.5 lbd
4 small ling
A host of mackerel
and all the rest returned :- several ling, coalies, scotchies, small codling and wrasse
so its fish for the family the freezer and the cats .....

And celebrating his first ever bream (No Steve its a scotchie) Sixfootsteve
Just for those that thought boat fishing was easy ......... look at the sweat on this fisherman
And not to be outdone a double header for Steve, A Ling ....... and, yes, you got it ...... a scotchie
That difficult decision, is it big enough or is it not (eventually persuaded Steve it wasn`t) .....
And Steves personal Favourite a nice Wrasse
Good to see everyone seemed to be catching today (Andy on Linda Q)
And a brief look at the other action just off the tyne today :- power boats, on their way to Royal Quays for the night ......
LOL Boy is there some posing going on in the marina grounds tonight
Last but by no means least just a snip of a conversation heard on Chan 8 as the powerboats headed (speeded) past us to the Tyne enterance.
One charter skipper: " Bl**dy H*** I wouldn`t fancy that hitting my boat" ....
Answer, from another (famous) charter skipper with an orange boat : "Never mind that, I bet he wouldn`t fancy hitting this boat!"
LOL class ................... and so true.
