We’ve both been lazy’ish for weeks with either ‘other things’ or very casual starts...and the last time we did go out (couple of weekends) ago it was beyond ordinary and not remotely worth talking about!
In reference to the casual starts - it’s a double edged sword...yes you come back with stacks of energy but it’s like that scene from Jaws when all the boats are trying to get out of the marina at the same time!
No thanks!
So normal service resumed yesterday and a pre-dawn raid was scheduled...lo and behold there was zero hassle in the lock or at the fuel pontoon
With plenty of mackerel at the pier ends we headed out for deeper waters immediately...and there were some fish to be had. First drop yielded a Pollack!
“We only catch one of these a year” says I
“And that’s it right there!” says he
But the wrecks aren’t exactly firing are they??? So we headed inshore to familiar grounds.
Actually, in all honesty the fishing was partially a secondary consideration...the main event was to test drive Slinky Kate and her 21st Century upgrades!
Earlier this year there had already been an initial upgrade with one Garmin 95sv plus (touchscreen)
Well now Slinky has two!
Feels a little decadent at this early stage but in absolute honesty it gives the boat/mariner/fisherman so many options as to be unreal and of course both are back up for each other...and let’s be honest it looks cool as ****
So all in all a great mornings fishing with plenty of fish caught for our tea (so many little fish out there surely a good thing?)
Thanks Norm!
