Hi all!
Fished shields pier today from 8am till 6.30pm. Was a canny day, got down around 7.40am and had a rod cast out by 8am. Bites came thick and fast for me up till 12pm, in which time I landed 3 whiting, one av which weighed 1lb 2ozs, and was kept for later, rest returned. By this time my good mates Stan, bob and steve (fish fingers, waco, stig were down to and its was good banter all day, kept us busy and had a rite laugh.
Later on after everyone left the end of the pier, I stayed and sticked it out, and was rewarded with a very small dab and more big whiting, including another corker of 1lb 8oz
. Kept fishing till 6.30pm when a decided to call it a day, a was tired and i also pulled a muscle in my waist so casting was painful to say the least.
I ended up catching a total of 12 whiting and 1 dab, of which I only kept 4 big fat whiting, rest where returned unharmed to grow bigger for another day. :red: Also had more fish to keep thanks to a few mates giving me there big whiting and my mate olly goving me a cracking Dab of exactly 1lb.
Here's my fish below, bring on Monday! (and... my new rod performed brilliantly, casting baits well oot there, and thanks to a few mates, a think I'll be ordering some Avet reels very soon...
