Me and a mate fished the groyne for the last 3 hours of the flood up to high water. Loads of small stuff and a bite every cast basically. Rag, frozen blacks and mackerel in various combinations.
We had Codling, coalfish, flounder, whiting and rockling but nothing anywhere near size. I stuck it out on a big chuck and big baits and one very promising looking nod and drop back resulted in a codling of maybe 12oz. Just bits otherwise.
Good fun though although it was frustrating the amount of loose kelp on the bottom. When fishing well out most casts resulted in having to drag great big chunks of kelp in. Is that normal for this mark ?

Nice one mate . Reports havent been the best anywere for size fish. But at least you got out and tryed. Maybe wen the weather heats up a little and the crabs start peeling the bigger fish will turn up. :)
