Shady was lifted back in the water last week after a Winter overhaul, valves reground, turbo refurbished etc. All the work was carried out but our own hands, not bad considering none of us are mechanics.
Anyway, she's running sweet and back just in time for the first SSBAC comp of the year Jimmy Bell Cup (HB) and Ken Atkinson Trophy (HF). There was a great turn out of 12 boats and the weather even stayed fine.
There was Bert, Jim and myself on Shady, the comp started at 8am and we had the first fish on board by 8.30am, did I mention the "trusty crusty"
We didn't travel far at all, I think the total trip distance including drifts was 12 miles after fishing till 12.30am.
We ended up with about two dozen Codlings between us, all between 2 and 3.5lb. Jim just pipped Bert to the heaviest bag to win the Jimmy Bell Cup and Gary Dixon fishing aboard his boat Karm won the heaviest fish and Ken Atkinson trophy with a cod over 4lbs. Well done lads!!

Great to be out there again, Thanks chaps!!
