Shadding on Sarah JFK

This year fishing in the North Sea is excellent. There's loads of codling around the 3 to 4lb mark with quite a few better ones to. One great method to get the best out of this fish bonanza is to use shads.

Sarah JFK was the boat booked today. There were lots of fish caught to shads and also to the usual methods like pirks and baited hokkais.

Sarah JFK, few if any know the wrecks off the Tyne better than skipper Alan Skinner.

Out of the Royal Quays at 7am to hit the wrecks some 8 miles off. Around 150 fish to 12lb caught today with many falling for shads.

A 4lber that snaffled a six inch shad, plenty of fish this size out there, I'm glad to say.

Brian who's always up there with the best, won the sweep with this 12lb ling, also caught on the shad.

Absolutely brill today, I've got to say, I ended up with 15 good codling to 6lb and a pollack to. Well done Mr Skinner, what a cracking day. This year just gets better and better. Tightlines, Dave.

Looks like you had a great day today Dave, gutted i couldnt make the trip today, just got back from my hols last night and straight back to work. I spoke to Allan at dinner time and he said yous were doing well. Roll on 9th July if not sooner for my next trip.

Yes Russ, I heard you on the phone to Alan, quite lumpy at 7am to but it soon settled off and for once it actually turned into the weather kind of day you often dream about for wrecking.

hi dave, i have been giving brian some tips while we work its paying off i can see but still some work to be done with him. john ps by the time i am finished brian will be using them 12lb ling for bait.lol

Dave, what a difference a day makes. Was out on Friday with Alan and he must of tried most of his wrecks throughout the day, not many fish at all. By the end of the day everyone had about 6 codling to 3lb with a couple of ling, the best being 7 lb.
