So they are well and truly here!! Superb sport with light spinning rod and single lure, (Dickie Shentin spinner). Had over 20, with me loosing the first 4 due to somewhat excited/over enthusiastic cranking in. Most went back, (without touching) and kept the ones in the picture. Some savage takes. In the space of 2 minutes, they were gone again, obviously following the sprat. This coincided with the high tide dropping. Going back Friday with the kids straight after school. Strangely had nothing on a Dexter lure.

Oh aye. I was on the pier yesterday, (1st time since February due to the fact I live 65 miles away)
I had about 15 in a short space of time, near the steps but the bloke next to me obviously contravened any known quota limits for Macky as he was bloody well trawling them in!
I was using Daylights, not sure what he was on.

Has been plenty caught all week till yesterday only 2 caught last night water has picked up and gone dirty with lots of seaweed on the surface .

Some drive that Smallfry. Was down last night also Geordie and only caught a giant ball of 50 pound line. Nice. Thanks Bandit, I'll ditch the old wives tale. Been doing that for 30 years. Ruined countless handtowels:D

Aye me & Sam did a 130 mile round trip to get some today. (called down Hendon for some crabs etc as well)
We had 44 between us in an hour & came away when the coolbox was full of Macky fillets.
Kept some for bait, had some on the barbie for tea but smoked most for some of our lasses smoked Macky pate'!
Nee point being greedy.
