I would like to say a Massive thank you to all the lads that turned out for this fund raising event today and also a Great big thank you to everyone that donated a prize towards such a worthy cause.

In total we had 15 lads from the various forums and i also managed to coax 3 lads from the Sunderland Sea Anglers club to also participate and part with their fivers. On top of that i gently persuaded some more of their members to buy some raffle tickets and also a few members of the passing public as i sat and whiled away the day looking after the gear.

Thanks to Duncan for keeping me company with regular visits and coffee throughout the shift.

So 18 lads fished and 9 lads weighed in. Mainly Whitey's and a spattering of Codling coming to the scales. A tale or two of decent fish being hung up and snagged up on the retrieve made things even more interesting.

Mr Alan Charlton came along as promised and helped with the weigh-in whilst i played scores on the doors Isla

As it happens there was a Trophy for the first 3 places and lo and behold all 3 winning fishing came from the same mark by the now commonly known 3 Amigos

In 1st place with a Codling of 3lb 12oz was Mark Bresnen Soon to be BSA member

In 2nd place with a Codling of 1lb 5oz was Adam Smith (Smithyofseaham or cham or whatever)

And in 3rd place with a Codling of 1lb 4oz was Dean Reddan (Kingcoddeano) Just pipped at the post there mate for 2nd but your Trophy is the bestun

With Trophy's dished out it was time for some fun

I did have a special prize for a female angler junior/senior but alas we had none taking part.

This prize was a lovely shade of pink Storm spinning rod and reel set kindly donated by Joe of Jokers tackle of Colwyn Bay (as well as a fiver towards the fund) Well Jimmy (Medlar) just could not help himself and fought tooth and nail to make sure he won it Thank you Jimmy for being such a sport and tipping even more cash into the pot on the day. I thought it was destiny mate when you turned up with a faded pink t shirt on

Next up for the auction was the new on the market from Monday Greys Centaur rod. Having done a lot of reading today while i was sitting bored sh itless i happened upon the write up for this rod in this months Sea dangler. After reading the report i was not going to let this rod go for nowt A little bit of a bidding war kicked off between a couple of lads and it was getting very tense at one stage with one lad in particular 1961robw Adamant (no not the bloke out of the 80's band) that he was having this rod as his own. I would like to thank Rob for such a generous bid and wish you the best of luck with the rod mate. This rod was very kindly donated by Mick Watson the founder of Get Hooked On Fishing.

Now onto the raffle draw. It was obvious i sold tickets to people who were not even there for the draw but hey ho so they say

Some cracking prizes given in with the Outcast leads hoody and t shirt being snapped up in a crack.

A couple of books by Dave Stores also being a welcome win for a couple of lads.

A boat bag donated by Duncan was an absolute beauty won by one of the Sunderland Sea Anglers lads, thanks for the donation mate and thank you for getting mugged into buying some tickets.

I could go on and on but lets get to the gritty part.

In total on the day a Staggering total of

£377.00 in cash pund notes with a further £50 promised from Outcast leads giving a grand total of £427.00

A couple of lads have made a promise through the forum for a donation to follow before we hand it all over so that figure could still rise a little bit.

But all in all i think everyone involved with this from the off should be very very proud of yourselves. It just goes to show what can happen with a little bit of gist.

Cheers lads.
