Razorfish ans wrecks

Dave, off the shore they are a often ignored as a bait. If you buy them they\'re pretty dear, I think Gordon will testify as to their success though. If I\'ve got the dosh I\'ll always take some with me (Why not!) they\'re a natural food for shore caught fish, don\'t know wether they only live on the margins. If not then I\'m sure they\'ll work off the boat. They are also freezable and easy to put on the hook. Failing that you can also slash your own throat with the shells if they don\'t work. And if you want to get your own you don\'t have to dig for the little gets, bit salt and up they pop 
if you get fresh out razors leave them for a few days on a bit paper till they start to turn a bit yellow then freeze them,that way they are ready to use straight from the freezer the same way the fish would find them after they are killed in a storm,best used from the shore but i have had lots of fish from the boats using them to tip of lug baits when the water is clear.

Thanks for the replies lads . I\'ve used razor from the shore for years and had some great catches , just bought 40 from the chinese S/Market for £4-20 about 6\" long in the shell .
Out of interest , I used to get mine from a place in wales . I went on the biggest tides of the year (Preferably with the wind blowing off the land ) and filled washing up bottles with one third salt and two thirds water . Walk backwards along the sand till you see a spurt of water or a \"Keyhole\" shape in the sand and squirt the solution in to the hole . Wait a couple of seconds and up they come , easy as pie
. Some of them were close to 10\" long and made two good baits and 250 lasted me all winter and then some .

Razors are spot on for Haddock fished on some 4/0 hokeyes or daylights should be worth taking some to the graveyard.

Yeh hung on till sunday hopeing the wind would drop as forcast and true to current form it blew a hoolie so we anchored a small inshore wreck and fished bait for eight small codling. Good weekend to test Dolly out though eh Dave?
