nowt new for the old timers in these parts, but maybe some on the newer members might be interested.
In a little over a year nesa will be 10 years old, and not many realise this is/was one of the very first sea angling sites in the UK, certainly the first serious one (probably
)!!
in the beginning(early 1999): (there's a few names you should spot!), especially jaybee who got the ball rolling in the first place
http://web.archive.org/web/19990824211820/www.sea-angler.org/cgi-bin/noteboards/nesa.cgi
then it changed a bit:
site ownership changed hands and became:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010331014543/http://sea-angler.org/
then the board changed, and started to look a bit familiar:
http://web.archive.org/web/20030726055023/www.sea-angler.org/cgi-bin/noteboards/nesa.cgi the helm firmly in TC's capable (culpabale??!!!
) hands.....
not long after and the sea-angler domain was dropped and nesa.co.uk was born at the end of september 2003:
http://web.archive.org/web/20031010080006/http://nesa.co.uk/
few initial teething troubles, but things settled down and the site took a more familiar shape until the new board was recently installed:
http://web.archive.org/web/20050827...modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=index
just had an amusing hour mooching through some of the threads from the Very early days, certain members still availing themselves of any spare fish (and rightly so!) certain boat crews still cleaning up when all around were scratching, and many of the same old arguments/hissy fits that still rear their heads and rage now and again - Bass, Bait digging, your fishing on 'my' rock (my personal fave), 'you should of let it go', mackie bashin etc
some of those involved in the spats, are still with us (good for them!) and some permanently threw their toys out the pram and haven't been seen since
there's been lots of kissing and making up, adjustments to behaviour, and the ability to self moderate developing over the years (and a few banned users it has to be said), and still we're here so I guess If we ain't been busted yet, we're not gonna be. So play nice and lets do another head count in another 10 years or so and see who stays the course!!
