Fancy fishing more of the Opens this year as I fished a couple last year and really enjoyed the craic (and the Raffles)

Which ones are there and when are they usually held?

Allways support your local clubs!! an excellent day out, allways good craic a chance to learn off other anglers and learn new marks and how best to fish them..
And a prize is allways a bonus
Charlton has the open dates in his bit ..think the newbiggin opens on sept 21st!!!

Well things have just changed!!! Wifes dad is very ill so we have had to cancel our hols in September as he aint in good nick

Can't go to Ibiza but i can now fish the Newbiggin open

What's the entry fee on these events? I've never fished in a competition before but would like to give it a try one day.

Usually in or around £10 plus optional pools to enter IE Heaviest Fish, Team event etc

It's a good craic, both during and after at the prize giving

Raffles are good too - my Begonia from the Amble Open is still alive on the Kitchen Window sill

...plus there'll be a few "friendlies" being set up through this site along the way...NESA Winter Comp, North v South...I plan on organising another Friendly on the North side and Sean(yrooroo) says he might do the same on the South...plus there's Tony(codlings) cash matches which'll start over the winter months - on the south side...loads of scope to fish matches and have a good craic
