Two Fridays ago I had 15 fish, cod, between about 2 and 4 pounds. I ran out of yellowtails. Would have had more but ran out of bait.

II look at the pic and I think not on. Then I think about my own catch. Maybe 5 or 6 I would have returnered but they were deep hooked. So I admit I killed fish against my aim. Tough one to moralise on.

its up to the individual,if you catch fish and want to keep them fair enough
lots of fish like whitings go back and end up dead
so why not take them home fillet them and eat them there a lovely tasting fish

But mate taking around 35kg of whiting, (working around a lb each) i know its his choice mate but we are just saying it seems a tad exessive thats all... Sure taking 3 or 4 but 78...

Regardless of wheather they go back its only small whiting that struggle to go back, these are all size and rarley have problems being returned unless they are deeply hooked.

Look im a sport fisherman, the flatties i weighed in today at the open i kept alive and they were returned alive. That maybe why this hits a nerve, but many will agree with me many will not. All i can do is get my opinion across and hope it he takes this into considderation they may be a lovely fish to eat mate but thats not a reason to take large quantities of them, ooo Cod tastes nice lets net them all... Wait theres hardly any left, our cod stocks have depleted over 70%... Well erm...oops?
