Arrived at Sandland Brygge on Saturday night

Good set up at sandland with apartments right on the harbour and filleting facilities.

Got our boat on the Sunday and were straight out to the west of Loppa, taking advantage of the flat sea as we knew it would'nt last.

I got my first ever Halibut at 11lb

Richie beat his pb cod with one at 33lb

Tony had a nice cod in the 30's

I got one 28lb, not a bad start

Next couple of days weather was poor and had to stay and fish in the fyords.
The fish just didn't seem to be there as previous years and was hard going to the gales and rain.
Most the cod in the fyords were golden/red resident fish.
On the Wednesday Steinar the fish camp owner allowed us to try out the new boat

We ended up using the boat for our remaining stay which allowed us to fish in harsh conditions.
Wednesday the weather allowed us back out into open water for a short time which produced a 27lb coalie for John

A new pb for Richie 39lb cod

A pb Halibut at 33lb for me

The next 3 days didn't allow us out in open water but still managed
a pig of a cod for John weighing 48lb

A monster Halibut for Tony weighing 81.5lb

Sunday our last day, the weather finally played ball with flat seas.
Straight back out to the 'Promise Land' as Richie calls it.
Well it was cod from the off.
John another pig at 47lb

I beat my pb with one 43lb then another 44lb

Richie then went one better hitting the magic 50lb mark with one at 51lb

Tony also had cod touching 40lb but weren't weighed

Loads of others in the 30's and Richie had another 40.

Few Halibut and haddock also caught

Big thanks to Tony for organising it.
Halibut were kept, all cod returned apart from one around 15lb and the big coalie which were kept for Steinar.
