Northumbria Police v Civil Service

Well the gauntlet was laid down (no slapping of faces as its just not right nowadays :) and the two sides met up for a friendly comp at the Harbour Beach, South Shields. This was fished between 5-9pm on a big ebbing tide with pegs allocated. The comp was scored using the SAMF scoring chart with everything 18cm and over scoring points. At the end all the scores were added up per teams and divided by the number in each team to give an average per man per team.

Well done to Mark Atkinson (civil service) who scored 210 points to take the biggest bag and the Bob Strong memorial trophy with a bottle of Jack Daniels and the sweeps for biggest bag, biggest round fish (39cm coley) and biggest flat fish (29cm flounder). Ian Jackson from the police managed to spoil the clean sweep by taking the sealed points with 78.
Civil Service average per man 92.85 pts.
Police average per man 70 pts.

Very well organised and great night (not just because I fluked the table) I am really looking forward to the next event 😀😀😀 tightlines and cheers 🎣🎣🎣

Steve,

Thanks for the effort you put in to organise this, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to Mark for drawing the best peg.

After 3 fish in about the first 3 minutes i thought i was going to do alright. Tough going after that!

Still it got me out of putting the Christmas tree up.

It's good to fish against some new faces and it was good craic. Glad you enjoyed it and look forward to next years comp.

I managed to catch a few micro species from the zone of death, however I had a great night and it was good to meet up with the police lads and I'm looking forward to the return match.

Sounds like it was a good comp you organised Steve. Shame I missed out due to being in the sick. Look forward to the re-match next year when hopefully I'll be able to fish and join in the fun!! :D:D
