North bank of the river

Having not fished the river much I asked about shots suitable for the kids a month or so ago and got some good info on the likes of Hebburn and the Walkway from some of the lads on here.

Looking to take the eldest boy (8 years old) and possibly his brother (7 years old) out this coming Saturday or Sunday night and am thinking of the north side as it seems to be fishing better and gives him the chance of a fish. If I head to the quayside and head down Ouseburn way is it ok to fish anywhere along there (Spillers, St Peters etc.) or are there specific recommended safe places to fish.

Cheers

from the copthorne to pottery bank all safe shots ,fishing out of your car ,promenade all the way and safe for kids, you can two hook and lose very little gear all baits work, fish on small tides. dAVY.

St.Peters is ideal for the kids been up there 4 or 5 times last couple of weeks. Don't bother with anything but lug there at the minute though.

Thanks chaps, appreciate it. From looking at the Google maps is there a canny stretch where with the tide going out the bairn will have too far yo cast to get into the water. Or would it be best to just head to deeper water like St peters?
Cheers

Loads of codling mate mostly under size like but had a few decent ones. had a few flatties as well. Seems fish best couple of hours up to high tide then dies off on the ebb.
