new rod well christened with pb cod 15/11/11

after a 3hour journey due to public transport and the long walk to the pier via taylours for some fresh bait finally got myself setup about 20yrds from the end of south shields pier second cast a gets a pouting about 3/4lb new species for me so am buzzing soon followed by a pollock bout 1lb n after a while went quiet so decided t try something different lobed out a big clam n lug cocktail n within mins the rod almost got pulled in n up came this a new pb cod

need t say a big thanks to the lads on the round end who hand balled it up the wall for me cheers lads, was lucky t get it up as was only lightly hooked as hook fell out on pier, was estimated t weigh around 5lb-6lb mark so was buzzing

finally got it weighed over 4hours later when got home n scales said 4lb 5oz after being gutted on pier so was at least 5lb a reckon

was nice with some chips

i defo makes up for all the times as blanked over the years, pain in the arse journey but times like this make it worthwhile buzzing
