1st Marty.E 1 Cod 5-8-6 H/F H/B £200:00
2nd M Bell 3-6-6 Rucksack.
3rd D. Hood 2-6-5 Rig wallet case.
4th Millsy 2-0-7 Daiwa fishing rod.
5th J. Levison 1-3-2 Sonic cap.

Well despite the big sea's and forty 0ne people fishing, only five weighed in Marty.E swept the board with his only fish winning a cool £200:00. The rest of the prizes were chosen in order as above. I think the happiest man of the night was Millsy who said it was the first thing he had won, despite coming to the scales saying "This is embarrassing to weigh in" :D :D well done mate.

We now have a nice £210:00 to hand over to the RNLI, as soon as I get in touch with Michael Charlton I will let you all know.

Thanks to everyone that turned up making it our best supported winter comp to date. Thanks to David Storey for registering everyone, it took a weight off my poorly back. Thanks also to Stevie Elliott (Codonly) and Terry Woods (Yours Truly) for holding the weigh in, all doing a great job. Thanks again to Paul Fenech (matchman) for kindly donating the prizes for the comp.

Nice to see some old friends and meet some new friendly faces too, good to see you all.

Sorry there are no photograps from the comp but my back was killing me and it was STILL raining so it was handled rather quickly so that we could all get home and get dried off a bit lol.

That's the lot for this year, we have the N v S comp in the new year to look forward to, details which will follow in January.

Jim.

Thanks again for tonight Jim and for putting the results up so quick as i know your in a bit of pain.

Congrats to those who weighed in & thanks Jim for organizing it all. After a severe blanking last night I've just fished 5 hours of the NFSA match today without so much as a bite - HAD ENOUGH! (Until tomorrow :D)

Just got in.....thoroughly enjoyed the weekend even though the fishing was poor. Made a special trip to see Rod in Kenton.......we had picked the Stoney, on Tynemouth beach as a good chance of a fish and as Rod knows it inside out I left him there, thinking if we catch a fish each we might ruin one anothers chances of winning the comp...so off I trudged to the Harbour and then, for most of the night into the Slatey. Rod fished 'til 9.45 when he damaged the drag? gears? ratchet? (I wasn't really listening lol) on his reel and went back to the car to try and fix it. Enter Marty, fishless, from the Bathing Pool to get a fish first cast in the Stoney and win the comp. Thought I ought to break it to Rod personally ....he took it well lol
Well done to everyone - even with the weather it's our top turn out. Remember Marty - it's taxable - I'll leave it to your conscience.

Taxable Dave !!!!! If the tax man took any more money off me he would be in a position to end the credit crunch. A big thanks to Jim and all his helpers on the night which made things run smoothly. Just a shame there weren't more fish about. Had four and half hours on the pier today and managed a tiny codling of 6 ozs and a smaller dab. Best fish came from the free zone and it weighed 5 lb 9 ozs. Had enough fishing today so I suppose I will have to wait until tomorow night.
Thanks
Marty
