OK I believe that the Codling Crouch version 9 will be the one that goes to print. I\'ve just finished ripping it to bits and re-doing it so that I can send it to a publisher \"acquired\" from John Bridges, aka Jaybee, who was influential in the setting up of NESA a few years ago. My thanks to him for his contact and also my thanks to TC for the idea of asking him... amazing what a sober mind can do lol. So will post the book off tomorrow and wait and see. Thanks to you all for your support and best wishes. I expect the book to retail at £9.99 but still have little idea of a marketing strategy (God I need help here) Will probably end up as a hawker (David Del Boy Storey) ......................Watch this space

hope this links handy :D

Word of mouth ,through tackle shops etc will help although I\'m sure most tackle shops will be only too happy to stock your book for the target audience ,best of luck David.

One step forward, two steps back. Have got a new printer, scanner, copier, teasmade thing so I\'ve been able to improve the quality of the photos. Has taken me all day but.............nearly there. Now on Codling Crouch 11 lol

Just read in the Chronicle about a local author who\'s leaving a few copies of his book lying about in strange places with an e mail addy for feedback.........load of poop I reckon ..apart from the obvious free Chronical publicity lol...hmmmm .Might have something there David eh , I\'m sure there\'s someone on here with press contacts , Mr. Charlton !!!!

Thanks for the support guys. Bri - I read the link and it sounds good in theory - you have 200 of my books at less than half price and sell what you can, then you give me 180 back because you\'re stuck with them, except now I\'m stuck with them. What I think is that the initial print run is accepted as a debt. At the minute it\'s looking like 1000 copies for £2500. After that I start reducing that loan at \"£x\" per copy. I can live with the loan and can live with the pressure of selling them. I must admit I dislike the idea of bookstores, publishers, printers etc making the sale of every book worth only pennies. Can see a few miles going on car in the next 12 months BUT looking forward to it immensely.

Will do my best sixfoot, as soon as the book is published and having read it i will certainly give it a plug. I will tell it will be only the second book i will have plugged the other being COD by Mark Kurlansky. And i have had some good offers to plug books even though i have never read them. I will be hanging onto my first ediuton of codling crouch you never know one day it could be worth a bit.

Aah, getting a bit tearful.... well you know. Am sending it to the publisher tomorrow... publish and be damned and all that. Will see what happens after that. Am coming up again in the school mini bus on July 24th so there will be plenty room for 1000 copies. Look out for me on the boot somewhere lol.
Funnily enough Alan this will be only the second book I will have \"read\" devoted, basically to cod - the first was....Mark Kurlansky\'s. Add that to our mutual interest in Samantha Weinberg\'s \"A Fish Caught In Time\" and you start getting spooky. Perhaps NE education ain\'t that bad after all if it can make journalists and hopefully authors out of rock end fishermen.

Fingers crossed again, but the cheques made out.
ps it\'s now version 12

Forgot about that one David \"Fish caught in time\" cracking book actually saw the fish that started it all when i was in east London. Would certainly give that book a plug as well.
