Mulling over mull

Driving into ever worsening weather & doubtfull we would be able to fish we finally arrived at Snatchers caravan just after 1pm after being welcomed in & given a much needed coffee Snatcher drew us a map of a few locations we could try, so off to flat rock we headed.
On arriving the rain had stopped & it looked like it may just brighten up for the rest of the day but as quick as the sun came out it was back to grey skies more rain & fog so after about a hour we decided to call it a day & make our way back to east tarbert to pitch the tent. Talking to a guy who had been there all week fishing he told us that the fishing had been poor for most of the week.
Soon after we had put up the tent the farmer came to see us telling us to make sure our wing mirrors were folded in so that the cattle wouldnt snap them off when they came down in the morning & would we take all our rubbish of the beach & put it in the rubbish bin by the cattle grid which we readily agreed to do. On this note I must add dispite the farmer asking all that spend the night there to dispose of their rubbish carefully, there was still rubbish strewn across the field so we spent a good hour picking up what we could see.
We didn't fish that night & instead I spent the night by the camp fire & enjoying a few beers with the lovely wife.
Next morning we were woken early by about 50 cows, calves & one very large bull munching around the tent, when I went out to have a look if the car was ok I saw one of the cows had a trace in its mouth which still had hooks & its sinker attached luckily I managed to get it out before the cow ate it & did untold damage to itself. So please anyone going to mull make sure you take all your litter home as I am sure the farmer wouldn't hesitate to stop anyone fishing if he lost a cow or bull for that matter to someones litter. Friday we tried our luck to the left handside of east tarbert & despite the heavens opening once more I managed to bag my first dogfish with the weather worsening we called it a day & packed up & headed for our cabin which after the last 24 hrs was pure luxury.
Thanks to Snatcher & his wife for welcoming us into their home & giving us a few pointers on where to go, we will be back later in the year & hopefully have some better weather this time.

unlucky on the weather front and congrats on your first doggie
on the rubbish we have been up this weekend we camped on the right hand side when driving towards the light house and can honestly say the area was clean and tidy when we got there and left just the same but there was only 2 more tents there was this where you camped or were you on the left side welldone on taking the rig from the cow
things like this and the farmer who had a good bit banter with us might stop the camping

We camped in East tarbert bay itself down the track & up in the top corner there was another guy in a van who told us there had been a tent pitched there for a few days before we arrived so maybe they had left the rubbish, as you say the farmer was pleasant enough & chatted to us for a good hour. I would hate for the few to spoil it for the many as we certainly intend going back & hopefully have better weather.
