Not only was the driver lucky but so where the guys who were fishing and had pitched their tent next to the trees :o:o:o I found this pic on another forum.

Me and Phil got back at midnight last night after fishing from Friday. We got to Port Logan at around 8pm on Friday and set up camp, it was getting late and we were tired from the drive so we just decided to have a BBQ and leave the fishing until the morning.

In the morning we fished the rocks at Port Logan without much success, we tried the floats, spinners and feathers but nothing was happening. At about 11.30am we headed to the Mull where we met up with Cocomonkey, Phil and Co. in the car park who told us they had just had 9 pollack and 2 wrasse off the rocks at West Tarbet but were going to try the rocks next to the lighthouse, needless to say we were down there like a shot. We fished the floats and spinners and I caught a wrasse on the float and a pollack on the spinner, Phil also got a pollack on the spinner.

The Wrasse, caught on a float using Ragworm

After a few hours Cocomonkey came over to where we were fishing and told us they were fishing round the corner so we went over there and joined them. There was much hilarity as competitions took place to see who could cast a spinner the furthest and also snagging up on every cast :p

We went back to Port Logan for the night and just had another BBQ and did no fishing that night. In the morning we went back to West Tarbet and fished the rocks again, we had a few small pollack again on the float and the water was quite rough. At around 2pm we decided to drive to Kirkcudbright and target some Dogfish. We fished the flood for 4 hours and in that time I had two very good bites, one was heavy when reeling in but went light as I was reeling over the last wave, both me and Phil got a glimpse of something silvery white on the surface but we will never know what it was.
