Mono Line

whats the asso hard skin like phil i seen it a few times but never got it what dia is the 20lb

its ok i just looked online .4

Got some of the ASSO hard skin aswell which seems like a very good line.... Mind you I never had an issue with the sakuma night crystal stuff either!

I've tried the Asso hard skin and found it just didn't lay right on the reel, maybe i didn't give it enough time to bed in but also seemed to have a very good memory as in the curls and kinks !
I currently use 25lb sakuma night crystal and find it very good, do get the odd snap when pulling snags but find me a mono that wont snap under extreme pressure !
Suppose everyone has a preference though, if there were one super mono that beat everything hands down we'd all be using it

Used Trilene for years but progressed on now to better, tried all the rest usual contenders as well, but last number of years dont look at anything else but Daiwa tournament in yellow now in mono.Multis or fixedspool all sizes, from 12lb beach,18/20 mixed ground work to 25/30 heavy rock/cliffs.

Down side Daiwas pricing policy is pure greed recently, but im still getting 4oz spools local for £14,cheaper value again on 1/2kg bulk spools if you shop around on net.Pays for itself in reliability and durability over longer periods of use than any line lve tried previously.Another plus point even this blind man can see it in the dark.

got to shop and changed mind again when there lol
ended up getting 25lb F1 Black guy next to me changed my mine lol will be testing tomorrow.

Best line on the market by a mile Berkley big game in Yellow, I use 20lb on my fathoms and 25lb on my saltists, ive used most lines and its the only one I go back to. I also rate sensor up to 18lb but dont like it in the dark, and daiwa tournamentfor genral fishing.
I found F1 really poor but only tried it in the lighter bs

That Daiwa sensor put on my saltist seemed to change colour when I pulled out a snag so I know it stretched quite a bit. It's also a bit frayed as well so looks like I'll need to respool and only used it one session, I wouldn't want to lose a decent fish because of that. Apart from that it's decent enough stuff and casted alright.

Used f1 myself in 25b/.40mm black, found it very reliable, cast's amazingly well but I don't use it in the really ruff stuff,I use it for mixed ground/clay's or fishing over low in the river humber where std 15lb/.35mm isn't strong enuff. For the heavy ground I like the brown 35lb sensor, but just got some 40lb red rovex, not tried that yet but looks a bit wiry, time will tell tho lol.

I tried asso hard skin and found it snaps at the shocker knot way to easy if snagged , diawa sensor with the same knot would pull the plug out before it gave way . sensor @ £ 7 a spool from now on .

on me multi's 18lb Diawa Sensor + 50lb or 60lb Ultima power flex for shock leader and never had any probs with this combination. 80lb braid straight through for the f/s and this then sorts any problems you tend to get with a shock leader knot when the weed is a nightmare.

I have just started using ION power reflector line and it's the best I've ever used, breaking strain is 44lbs but dia is the thickness of 15lb line, very strong, great knot strength, almost invisible on sea bed, and casts like a dream.
you can use it without a shock leader and it's on e bay for £8 for a 600m spool. enough to fill two reels,I would strongly recommend it. Eddie

Nite Crystal would be better called sh1te Crystal. Decent line for field casting but absolutely pants as a fishing line.

Personally I use Suffix Tritanium in .35mm (19lb) for my general fishing. Casts well, very strong but as a downside it is very very stretchy when snagged.

Not much use to you but for mixed to rough I use 66lb power pro braid...

An aside but when I'm using my distance casting reels and .35mm line if I get snagged I want it to go at the leader knot every time. Tie on a new leader and I'm straight back fishing. The alternative is a random break along the length of line which if I'm fishing at distance could mean the end of my session...

Totally agree Stewart it's -hite yes suffix is stretchy but great line,I never have that problem with the braid only stretch is at the rig end until something goes.

So you use .35 line without a shocker in the belief it's stronger cos it says so on the spool.when you kill someone then show the relatives the side of the spool. Been told as soon as it gets slightest nick it snaps like weak cotton.
