fished the heugh today with my 12 year old son, got there about 3.45 just as the tide was on the ebb, sea was flat and clear, then as we were setting up the macky came on, there was about 15 lads on, and it was non stop action for the next 3 hours, on feathers 5 at a time, spinners one every cast even the lads on float where hammering them, i noticed 3 fishing boats 50 yards off the end of the heugh they where pulling them in five at a time, me and my son got i don't know how many, after the first 10 wich we kept for the pot the rest were returned, at long last they are here lads, great sport and roll on the summer

Great stuff. Dunno what's going on north of the Tyne though, still don't seem to be showing other than stragglers.

I have fished the north east coast for nearly 30 years and dont know where the heugh is. I notice it gets a few mentions on the forum,

the heugh is on hartlepool headland you have to climb round gates to get on the end though do not try if there is a sea running been a few anglers washed off in previous years
