Living by the sea.

I was talking to an old boy on the red light yesterday. Local lad he was. In fact his house looked over the Redlight and seafront.
I have also seen him digging rag. He has an aquiriam where he keeps his worms fresh.
Didn,t get the guys name but he was telling me he cannot remember the last time he bought a sinker. Just has a walk down to the side of the red light at low water and picks them up.
Said he might go on the heugh today if the sea drops.
This must be great.
There and again before i joined the police i worked on the council at the headland for two years and i was sick of the sight of the sea.(them days i did,nt bother fishing) It was cold standing on the ladders pointing walls in the winter.
Going fishing now gives me something to look forward to. Either Hartlepool or some other different marks.
Suppose its a bit like working in a choclate factory and eating as much chocolate as you want living on the sea front.

I lived 3 mins from the sea when I lived in Whitley Bay years ago Mick....it's a double edged sword...

Yes you're within spitting distance...

But you get the sea frets, the cold winds off the sea and the salty air knacks your car etc etc

Well i live about 3/4 miles form the sea and would love to live right on the beach.
That has been an ambition for as long as i can recall.
Now't to do with fishing just love being my the sea.
Though no doubt i would hate it in summer with the tourists etc.
So it would have to be a private beach.
Keep buying the lottery tickets

we tried to buy this place a few years ago but got beat to it, its now a holiday cottage, which we've used a few times, for me you'd be hard pressed to get a better 'house by the sea' anywhere
as much lug/rag and white rag as you'll ever need and masses of prawns/crab and mussels in the rock pools, and theres actually some fish left in the sea.
from the front window diggin a few worms:

Does the house come with free Kronenburg :D

100yards tops. It's a double edge sword. With the bairns I can't fish as much as I'd like and I can hear the sea when its away lying in bed. Can see the see out of the window from where I am typing!!

teasing myself as well, looking oot the windy here at the sleet and snow, and looking at that thinking of summer, I've got over 2000 digital pics taken up there over the last 6 or 7 years, been tormenting myself trying to pick a favourite
