We fished the SSBAC / Beehive Breakaways comp last Sunday 11-10-09, Bert, Kyle & myself.
Fishing started off really slow, Bert landed a codling from an inshore wreck early on but with not much happening he decided to work his magic and we headed out to a 3 mile wreck. Bit of a gamble really with the wind picking up and the drift already pretty quick but the skipper did what he does best and plonked us over the fish
I was first in to a canny cod, then Kyle landed 2 canny ones, then I hit lucky with a nice one (just under 13lb at the weigh in). Bert was trying for a big ling and got one half up before it escaped. Kyle & me ended up with 3 cod each, all the other boats had struggled so we took heaviest fish, heaviest bag and second heaviest bag and best boat average.
