Had a ride out today just to see how big the sea was, and boy did I get a shock. In forty years of fishing I dont think I have seen the sea as big. You could not see the whole of the heugh at times. The end of steetley was awash and the waves were nearly touching the bottom of the platform.
Two lads fishing partons could not hold bottom. One lad on the pilot pier and two on the banjo. Could see two lads on middleton - I think they would have to wait a while to get off as the middle of the pier was awash.
There must be fish on the back of this.
Hopefully will be able to fish tomorrow and saturday when it dies off a bit.
