The sea dropped away nicely this morning. i dug some nice lug during the week. so off to one of my local shots three of us fished i was not expecting much considering the time of year. first light a lovely codling 4lb 11oz followed by 4 codling in the 3lb range with a few under sized codling . my mates using blueys and mackerel strip could only manage a couple of whiting. good end to my winter run . roll on summer ??
all fish were returned safely

Nice one, only decent fish I have caught this winter was to fresh lug with a strip of bluey. Really struggled with frozen squids, mussel etc.

Also credit to you for digging them yourself, I tried a couple of weeks ago and they were sooooo deeeeep. Back breaking

Yes i know what you mean my back was stiff as a plank i used to dig bait then go fishing for a couple of hours now DIG and days recovery
its getting the same with crabbing cheers
