ive used a cheap silver flask for the last 5 years to keep my bait frozen when out.i noticed last winter when taking bait out to put back in the freezer it was starting to defrost.i was only out 3 hours today and took some frozen crab in the flask and when back home I went to put it back in the freezer and it had defrosted fully.anyone recommend a good flask.maybe mine is just past its best as it used to be ok

i have been using this one from asda, gets loads of crab in and cart, just dont put the lid in the freezer, just the flask shell ASDA Food Flask - 1.2L | Utensils & Gadgets | ASDA direct
I do mate yea but some say it can cause it to crack but mine never has I just keep it in the bottom draw

Tried the cheap flasks - not good especially in the summer & even in the winter (when it's not too cold!) found sometimes crab was beginning to thaw after only a few hours. I use the cheap supermarket ones for my coffee, but bit the bullet & got a couple of Thermos brand flasks for my bait - a large one (about 2 litre) that will take full bluey/sandeel in lengthways as well as crab, mussel or mackerel fillet. For more general use, one about 8 inches tall that will carry plenty of bait for the average 3-4hr club comp / session and fit easily into my bait-bucket or bag/box.
I keep it in the freezer all the time (without the lid) and generally topped up with crab (or other bait) so when it's time to go out I just pop the lid on. I've had them for a full day out in the summer, over the west of Scotland, and remaining bait has been still frozen. If I was travelling any further, I'd keep them in a cool-box with freezer packs.

I use a Stanley Food Flask, its good but must be kept in a Cool Bag with ice Packs if you want it to last all day. Took some Cart with me today, 7am to 5pm & there was one piece left when I got home & still frozen. Mind you, I have the flask 1/3 full of frozen water too.

I just put a couple of ice cubes in me flask with the crab always keeps them frozen
As GaryP suggests I use one of these, a coleman model. Depending on how much bait I take I use different sizes of ice packs. It keeps more delicate baits such as worm frozen as well as the bigger items.
Its a bit bulkier than a flask but still fits in a standard seat box but worth it for the quality of the bait. I have adapted my bucket to 2 levels so I have a bait tray at the top for defrosted/fresh bait and use underneath for sinkers/used traces/rubbish etc rather than cluttering my box. It worked well for me last winter.
I'm quite happy to expand further on the bucket/box layout
