Headed up to Northumberland last night I'm an effort to find some better fish. Having already picked up my Lugworm and a couple of packs of Terrys 'Match Winner' cart I met up with Nathan at 6:15 and headed north. The beach was full of head lights when we arrived, forcing us to fish further south than we intended. I was hard work at first, with a good amount of weed causing us problems. But we persisted helped along by 3 fish I'm my first 3 casts. 2 at about 1-1.5lb and the third at about 4.
The guy fishing along the beach from us packed up about an hour and a half after we got there, the 10 fish in his bag were getting to heavy for him
, one of which was a nice plump 6lber. We moved back up the beach a bit with him gone, we must of only moved 30 meters but that was enough to get us out the weed.
Nathan was having a nightmare at this point and was soon 4 fish behind me as I landed a flounder. He soon got his act together and pulled in 5 fish all between 1.5-2lb, while I managed another at about 1lb and another at about 4lb.
A couple of lads fishing along from us came along for a chat after what sounded like a decent crack off, not long after they left I wound in to find I'd snagged his lost line, hand balled it in so as not to get snagged up on it, there was a bit of weight on the line, I had assumed it was weed, nope , it was a nice 3lber Lol.
All in all another canny night on the beach.
