Well thats another year gone, they are going in a bit fast for my liking.
With the end of the year and the festive season upon us,I would like to wish you all a merry xmas and new year. Tight Lines for 2013
Many thanks to you all for the interesting reports, nice videos, advice and crack.
On a personal reflection of 2012, i had a few opportunities to get out early to mid season and we had some great catches and quality fish, the back end of the year, for the couple of times i got out, was a disaster as it was for most when the fish just weren't there, all tactics were tried, multi coloured xmas tree things, big and little shiny things and the likes.
I think my choice of catch this year was not the size but the tactic used.
So the 2012 Phantom 1, best catch vote goes for the......... "Pork Pie Cod" that is pure desperation and what a catch.
Best Video, wasn't hard really, the quality of the vids are excellent and very teasing when watching them.
BUT unfortunately for the other producers who will be gutted at this, the UNDISPUTED Phantom 1 Video of the year goes to......yes you got it......"The Fcukin" vid.............

The Phantom 1 dodgiest report is.......... "The massive record what the fcuk is this".......6th shot down.........puzzled look tells us all

Phantom 1 vote for "perseverance and bad luck" undisputed to Marl & Lynn, the time and energy from you two is inspirational, hope you have a good 2013.
the weather man seamed to be watching you this year............
Phantom 1 vid for the North East vid is" the George Elmy" restoration, great watching and craftsmen like Fred Crowell must be passionate to have the patience to produce such fantastic results, i have followed it throughout and would love to be at the launching.
If i am home i will be waiting outside of the piers, i don't know what the plans are regarding putting the life boat back in the water, they may sail her down from shields, which would be brilliant for me to see her and follow it back to Seaham.
Especially if our regards and respect to such a brave service was given a small boat flotilla home coming into Seaham, if allowed and given the priveledge i will be on her port bow, lights on horn blowing.

Last and not least the worst post, when some gent hoyed a photo of me boat up Phantom 1, when i was on a downer, homesick 8 weeks away from home, just ready to cut the wrists and then saw it (can't find the photo )
Hope you get a nice surprise off Santa, new fishing stuff, toys for ya boat, new body wear.............probably the latex shop will be cleaned out by now............
Tip for 2013, persevere with the training in shad tying, knife sharpening and filleting............it does pay off.
All the best lads, hope you have a fruitful season in 2013.
see ya's about.
Kindest Regards
Paul
To my paragraph on the George Emly, if anyone has a date and what the intentions are to bring her back to Seaham could you let me know.
It would be a very emotional day for the relatives and people of Seaham.
if its on and they are sailing her back, i would sincerely urge the boat owners who can join in the escort/flotilla back to her home, you might even end up on the telly.
