Ten Seniors and one junior fished this Comp between 1000hrs and 1400hrs on The Tyne with the boundaries between The Hub Cafe and down to the Army TA Centre.
High Tide was around 11:30 hrs and any fish over 18cm was recorded and released with points added using the SAMF score chart.
Ian Ainsley and Peter Chadwick chose the area around down by the cordoned off Car Park with Ian catching a 32cm Codling first cast, smaller flounders soon followed in quick succession. At the top of the tide the bites soon died down as is expected on The Tyne.
The lads where not holding much hope for the dropping tide, but to their suprise the fish came back on. The codling showed up in the area Ian and Peter where, and word came that Barry Johnson had pulled a cracking Flounder measuring 43cm from down by the TA Centre.
The lads up by the Hub found it hard going all day but new member Steve Dunn had a nice bag of six flounders out with his tutor Mick Dunn struggling in the heat !!!!
A good day was had by all apart from Alan Lunn (El Blanco)
Nice comfortable spot for the lads, with great weather and plenty of parking..
The Codling preferred peeler crab with the flounder taking the worm baits.
