Well for this match fifteen anglers attended Southwick Prom on a catch/ measure/release Comp using SAMF scoring system. Comp was fished on a rising tide in bright sunshine between 1-5pm with fish scoring from 18cms.
Everyone was hopeful of a good day, due to the recent reports of good sized flounder being caught in the area, and within minutes of the start Alan Lunn, had a small flounder out on ragworm, so it looked like the reports were going to be right WRONG !!!
It was a poor days fishing for all apart from Mick Dunn who managed to wrestle out three Eels to record a winning score of 60pts.
Only three anglers caught fish, which were of poor quality, and high light of the day was watching Mr Dunn take a selfie with one of his Eels, and no doubt for those knowing Mr Dunn will have seen his smiling face on Facebook,Twitter,Instagram, BBC, ITV, News of the World, Panarama, Echo, Consett Times, Daily Sport, and Jacanory after he received the winnings for best bag and fish....
Well done Michael, you deserved it..

Results..

1st Mick Dunn. 3 fish for 60pts
2nd Alan Lunn. 2 fish for 16pts
3rd Ian Ainsley 2 fish for 12pts

Remainder blanked but Kev Woodcock retains the Ell Blanco hat as its starting to take the shape of his heed as he has won it that many times...

I tend to think the Wear don't fish well with fresh water, and it must have had quite a bit over the days.
But been told that Flatties tend not to mind the fresh water, ain't got a clue why it didn't fish though..

Looks like you were just unlucky yesterday - I was at Claxy Prom this afternoon to pick the FPO up from rowing, looked like there was a match of some sort going on and in the hour or so I was there I saw a fair few Flounder landed.

Looking forward to seeing the piccs of Mick and his Snottys, I'd guess he's been too busy to get his report up on NESA yet...

Here is the pic I took. Slimey buggers them eels. Could,nt get hold of it so fell to floor and covered in grit. Swam off when I chucked it back in the river.
