Comp was fished on Sun 19/12/10 between 1200hrs and 1600hrs on the Tyne at the Northumbria Police Marine Launch at Jarrow using SAMF catch n release rules.
8 adults and the ever present junior Calum Stuart took part in cold snowy conditions, fishing two hrs each side of high tide.
fishing was shockingly slow for the time of year, but still better than being stuck indoors.
Bait used was runny down, rag, crab and mackerel but the elusive cod failed to appear.
only three anglers troubled the scorer.
1st Ian Ainsley 4 fish for 77pts
2nd Mick Dunn 2 fish for 18pts
3rd Calum Stuart 1 fish for 6pts
Calums dad, Gordon, yet again failed to register and undoubtedly gets to retain the Mexican hat for blanking. On another below the belt note, had young Calums aggregate score, been put up against the Adults, then he would have finished a cracking 7th in the adults league, knocking his dad,Gordon down to 8th position. congrats to the bairn..
Picture of the day,was watching Mick Dunn drive away at the end of the Comp with his Tip Tornado stuck out of his window doing his Sir Launcealot impression due to not being able to separate his rod.!
Final top 8 positions for the year, taking the members best three positions over the year are as follows.
1st Ian Ainsley
2nd Mick Dunn
3rd Peter Chadwick
4th Billy Huscroft
5th Kev Woodcock
6th Neil Bickford
7th Gordon Stuart
8th Les Reay
junior winners
1st Calum Stuart
2nd Josh Pool
3rd Luke Ainsley
