Hard going at Druridge today, with northerlies and big sea washing up loads of weed, every cast was getting dragged around by big lumps of the stuff, but we persisted, trying for Bass again.

Mark started the day with a Turbot, just so he can keep up his long run of catching a Turbot every time he fishes Druridge!

Then hours went by with not even a knock, apart from the weed. Our lines all got seriously tangled at one point, Marks stand and rods went over at one point, but we kept at it, and eventually Mark got one!

Not the biggest Bass ever!, but it was a very welcome sight.

Around half an hour later, after blanking for around 6 hours, my rod registered a few little taps. Still not much bigger but I was well chuffed to get this little silver.

We tried for another hour or so with nothing else showing.

Looking forward to going back soon to see if any bigger fish show up.

Beautiful place to fish when the weather's calm. Well done with the fish it's a great sign that both bass and turbot youngsters are around it shows they are happy and breeding on our coast... good portents for the future of shore angling from north east beaches :)
