drift wood

anybody been out recently north of the tyne seen any driftwood, our lass wants some for arty things.

Hope you get sorted marksworld and i will keep my eyes peeled for you,alawys plenty of driftwood in the Tyne, bit off topic here but i seem to remember that your quite clued up on Craster area, any idea how it fishes during late march? And if so any tips? Cheers in advance.

For me i prefer to fish craster on a fairly calm sea so keep a eye on winds and swells. I have had fish Feb and March time from the rocks. big baits are good with rotten bottom set up, i prefer plain leads as there is loads of kelp. Second gulley north of harbour is my preferred mark.

cheers mate, i usually fish the south side of the harbour but might try the north side, im planning on fishing an ebb tide near the end of the month. Is the gulley obvious at high water or just on low water?

if its drift wood u want the rubble area of south shields pier is ideal,usually has some canny bits on but canny walk back to car park unlees you have a trolley, barrow if bits are big bout 900yd walk

cheers mate, i usually fish the south side of the harbour but might try the north side, im planning on fishing an ebb tide near the end of the month. Is the gulley obvious at high water or just on low water?

it can be seen at both low and high water. If you come to a big log on the ground you are just past the gulley. Fish right hand side as far down as you can get, follow the tide down but take it easy on the rocks, they are slippy

Try the Wansbeck from the Dam down towards the river mouth, might be worth a look at low tide.
