THE 17TH DAVID JOBSON MEMORIALCOMPETITION RULES

1. Competition commences at 09.30 am and finishes at 01.30 pm. The weigh in is from 2 pm to 2.45 pm.

2. Competitors must register and pay prior to commencing fishing.

3. Fishing is not permitted during 1 hour prior to the competition.

4. Competitors are allowed to use only one rod with terminal tackle connected. 3 hooks allowed. A spare baited trace is allowed.

5. Competitors must hand in their fish and completed weigh-in card to the appointed match official. Tackle hooks etc. must be removed.

6. Competitors must cast for themselves, hook and play fish to the waters edge. Assistance can be given to gaff, net or lift fish.

7. Successful anglers will receive their prize immediately following the weigh in formalities at The Ridley Park Hotel.

8. In the event of two anglers having the same weight, the one with the greatest number of fish will win. If this is still a tie a toss of a coin will settle the matter.

9. A junior is under sixteen on the day of the competition. No person under the age of fourteen may fish except accompanied with an adult.

10. Boundaries - Patterson’s Garage, Beadnell, to The Ice House at the Tyne. All other rivers and out of bounds areas are excluded. Fishing on Blyth Pier is permitted casting any direction.

11. In the event of bad weather arrangements will be made by the organising committee by 9 am at The Ridley Park hotel.

12. The minimum size of a fish to be weighed in shall be- Bass 41 cms, Brill 30 cms, Coalfish 35 cms, Cod 35 cms, Dab 26 cms, Dogfish 38 cms, Flounders 26 cms, Haddock 30 cms, Pollock 30 cms, Plaice 27 cms, Turbot 30 cms, Whiting 28 cms, All other species 26 cms.

13. The following are not eligible for weigh in- Ray’s Bream, Dragonets, Lump Suckers, Sea Scorpions, Blennies, Rockling, weavers, Eels, All shellfish.

14. The organising committee shall not be held responsible for any injury loss or damage, however caused during this competition.

15. Anyone found breaching the rules will be disqualified at the decision of the organising committee. The decision is final.

yes i'm looking forward to it, hope there is a good turn out as it surely is a good excuse to get out fishing. :)

It's open to all mate not just NESA members all the rules and boundaries and info is all on the opening of this thread.

Think that's his point; if you haven't seen the thread you won't know the rules / sizes as nothing is provided when you register in the shops.
