The gnome Paul turned up late and was having a poor start losing gear left right and centre snagging up every cast but did get 2 new species a flounder and a common blenny well done mate
Mark got the biggest sea scorpion I have ever seen rob had a little rattle but when he reeled in there was his bait and only the head of a coalie left on the hook so don't no if something took it on the way in ImageUploadedByTapatalk1378669903.767994.jpg
Then rob caught a dab which swallowed both hooks on his flapper rig greedy little b......d
A few more coalies on muscle then rob got 2 coalies off the belt to win the tourney of 33 and 34 cm ImageUploadedByTapatalk1378670094.783720.jpg

Great weather and crack as usual but was hoping for a coddie or 2 but not this time heard there was a few caught near the end until next time tight lines and stay safe

Codfather145 doesn't turn up and the others cry off! :D

Looks like you had another good day with some decent weather and a few fish.

Jealous, Lynn and I rehearsed all day with 30 odd teenagers for Grease, knackered! :(

I stayed down till half 10, Got nothing else. Had 2 good bites, but snagged both times. Lost 4 rigs today

Not the best day's fishing but still a good day out with excellent weather. Loads of NESA lads out yesterday and a busy pier with the comps on. Thanks again Steve (Bestnest) for the worms, saw us through till we packed up.
The old pen trick worked a treat again taking two hooks out of Rob's dab in one go, still don't know how it works though :)

I keep hearing about this pen trick, but how does it work ?

How do you do it then ?

Push the pen down past the hook in the fish's mouth, hold the line against the pen with your finger and thumb then gently spin the fish and the hook dislodges. I think when the line wraps around the pen it alters the angle that the hook is in the fish and it comes free.
When I say a pen, any similar shaped object will do the trick.
Also remember to do this as close to the ground as possible so the fish does not have far to drop ;)
