I was up in Chester-le-Street this week for a trade show and decided to go up a couple of days earlier to meet with a good friend of mine and do a bit of fishing. We ended up at Chatton Fly Fishery, what a cracking place!
Conditions were not great, bright sunshine and a bitterly cold wind. Fishing with a static fly under a bung set deep the fish did eventually show. I had six to the net.
It really was a pleasure to fish that place, great people who run it and the facilities are top not. The fish are also in excellent conditions and the guys who frequent the fishery regular were great.
I'll definitely be heading up there again next time I'm in that neck of the woods.
