Hi everyone, launched at Cullercoats at 8am, That's me and Ken, sun shining, sea flat. headed straight to can area off Whitley bay, anchor down into the last of the ebb,
.Bites from undersize fish straight away. a few landed and put safely back, then a keeper of 2lb, but again, small stuff after that. Quick chat with Norman and Tony who pulled alongside.
Decided then to try the wrecks just outside the Ty ne piers, going from one to another, picking up the odd fish to 2 and 3/4lb. soon the breaze picked up from the south east, macking it more dificult, so called it a day, and headed in with 6 keepers.
Back home, we had a bbq with the family round, and all watched the grand national, my wife having put a £5 each way bet on a horse called, One for Arthur, never got a mention till the last two fences. We never bet at all, so can you imagine whoopeeeees in our house when he won.
so to round things up......Fishing, sunshine, few fish, bbq, national......had a great day. Ah luv the summer me.
took photo's, but can't upload to photobucket, that long since last time, things on computer out of date.

nice report there covering many vices:D--hobbies --family social---- gambling a grand day!!!!!

we put a few groats on "one for Arthur" too(deceased family memberR I P)--and like you say did the "biz"

Nice one Arthur. Everyone I’ve chatted with at the marina agrees that it’s been a tough start to the season and any fish are welcome.

I have bought a Leeward 18 (cuddy version)Arthur, just had a new engine fitted ready for me getting home and a full rewire. I have got the hull to polish and a few other small jobs then she will be good to go. I will be keeping her in Amble Marina. Let me know if you fancy a run out of Amble, I am off for 12 weeks when I get home. Can't bloody wait, loads of fishing!
Hopefully she's a bit more watertight that the last boat!

Graham.

Canny first session Arthur to blow away the cobwebs , just one 3lb off Blyth for me , first one of the season on a shad :D ........Dave.

Cheers Graham, looks a great sea boat. Yes, woudn't mind a trip out of amble whenever you want, only fished from there once, that was for the Bob white memorial comp. About 10 years ago. Some good bags of fish weight in.

The forecasts keep changing so I’m optimistic about getting out some time this bank holiday weekend. I’ll probably go digging for worms tomorrow and will keep the options open.
