when was the last time in the summer we had nearly 2 weeks of flat calm seas. Was at whitby today and the sea was like a mirror.

watch it come april onwards the sea will be bouncing every weekend.

atleast there is one plus side - they are catching off the wrecks to shads at around 15miles off at whitby and to sqid closer in.

Canny Jason i went 5 miles off last week and it was like mud, looking forward to this year, if weather good then 3 trips a week every/most weeks

it is typical about the weather but the only difference is that its short days and cold

i was out xmas eve and the fishing was very good well off

i just need to be a bit smarter this year with planning trips around work family etc. as i was poor with that last year.

have just started sorting gear out for the summer - 50 x 8oz ball weights for £40 including postages - saves on the hastle etc.

Tell me about it jason, i working shifts all year so trips should be often this year.

I have 150 10oz leads, 80 pirks 8oz and 60 lead heads along with 100s of rigs...all waiting to be snagged up on the wrecks lol.

i have a garage full of gear but last year when i had time off it was crap weather

but hopefully this year i will have good weather when i am off

as for the winter fishing you have to find clear water

further off its like the med in summer its crystal clear
