Never knew the man. Never met him, yet somehow I feel a lot more sadness than I would normally on hearing the news of a death of a 'stranger'. I suppose it brings home to you just how unpredictable your 'next' fishing trip could be. In fact .....it could be your last. Please take care lads.........no fish is worth any risk no matter how small it may seem. My sincere condolances go out to Barry's family. After reading all the tributes about him, it seems that Barry was a very popular angler held in great esteem, and personaly even though I never knew him even I am very saddened about this news.
I heard this come in whilst at work and when you here angler missiing you pray that its no one you know but unfortunately it was . Went home sharp that morning just didnt feel right rip Barry thoughts go out to family.
very sad news, my thourghts are with his family and friends.
a terrible loss.
im away from home at the moment, called home to check-in and was told about the news of another angler lost to the sea.
you pray that it wont be someone you know, shocking when you find out that it is.
the call for lifejackets during rough weather is needed.
