Advice about crab

Need some help lads. Been out a few nights hunting crab from around the Tweed estuary. Not a great deal of peeler about but a few. Nothing of really any size, biggest peeler I have found is 3 inch across. Lots of the crabs have already peeled. There are fair size crabs in there, I have caught plenty when fishing, but cant seem to find any of a good size peeling or not. I got some Tyne crab off regpude at the weekend, it was spot on and much better size.

I thought I might give up on the estuary and try the shore, maybe the rocks the other side of Berwick pier, rocks at Eyemouth beach or Burnmouth around harbor. I know the crabs in the estuary are peeling/ already peeled, my question is is it same for crab I may find around the shore rather than the river? Also anyone got any tips for good spots I would be interested and I take it it just a case of getting out there and turning over some rocks to see what is there?

Cheers in advance for any advice.

Jon

You might be struggling to find many due to the high rainfall we are having, it knocks them off peeling. Also shore crab tend to peel later than river crab, I think this is down to water temp but not 100% sure
