Fished Hartlepool promanade last night for a few hours sea was well away and it looked un fishable but time was getting on and it look the best place for a fish.
First cast out I used just frozen peelers x3 but nothing touched it. So after 20 mins I wound in for a re'bait same again peelers but this time I lashed a nice chunk of cart onto it aswell and chucked it out as far as I could maybe 40 yards :red:.
It was quit hard to see if I was getting a bite as the spray off the waves were hitting the line and the surge of the swell was pulling the rod tip alot.
Then after about 5 mins the rod tip proper pulled down unlike the waves pulling it so I picked up the rod and waited for it to go again and it did so struck and could feel a fish nodding. I thought to myself get in cod on
I no crazy but not had one since last year was starting to forget what they felt like.
It weighed 2lb.10oz when I got it home but it felt alot bigger anyway that's brought my enthusiasm back after how many blanks not the bigest of fish but made my day and only 15mins from home.
No more fish after that so came home at 2.15 this morning goosed today. Sorry no pictures I can't find camera hope I never left it in my old fishing jacket pocket as I binned it last week.
