A small thank you

Hi,

Don't post regularly, as it seems the forum is declining rather quickly, which is a shame, but thought I would share a small story and to say a quick thank you.

My Great Aunt, (85), lives in one of the houses overlooking a popular fishing spot, and 2 weeks ago, 'an angler' managed to put a lead through her window (not really sure how they managed this.....) Anyway, said angler rather than owning up, swiftly packed his gear up and made a run for it like a coward.

However, a local fishing club who were also fishing the same area that night saw what happened and couldn't have been more caring. They made sure she was ok, explained what happened and took her details. The next day, one of the guys from the club turned up with an enormous bunch of flowers, a card and some cash which was donated from the club anglers. This made her day.....she tried to refuse the cash, but the guy insisted she take it.

Just to let you know- the window was fixed, and the remaining cash was donated to the RNLI by my aunt, on the clubs behalf.

Now the club was not to blame, nor was the perpetrator in question part of that club, but anglers (of which I am one) are far too often tarnished with the same brush. Its nice to know there are some decent folk out there still- so Thank you- you made an elderly lady very happy.

I'm pretty sure Darren McGlen (Mogthemakem on here) organised the flowers etc via Facebook /Fisherman's Locker.

Well done Darren and all those that contributed, great gesture.

Indeed it was Darren, but wasn't aware it was through the Facebook group. I don't use Facebook so didn't see that part of it.

Again, for all who were involved- thank you
