Me and my mate fished near craster last night. Got there for about half 5/6 and walked over to the mark. First time I had been up that was so was happy to get out and try a new spot. Got set up and there was nothing for a little while and then my mate had a 38cm codling, couple of casts later I had a 37cm codling. Cast back out and then my rod started going so I struck onto a fish, reeled on and then my line was frayed on a rock so it snapped just as my mate had grabbed the line. It was a nice fish as well, it put a canny bend on my ss lol. We moved spot after an hour of the flood and then had a couple of bites here and there but nothing. Got to about half 11 or so and we said ah we will have 1 more cast and I had 2 frozen crab left so I put them on and cast out, left the rod and started packing my bits and pieces away. I was absolutely freezing by this point and my headlamp had ran our of batteries and then my spare pair knackered so I had to lend my mates, thankfully he had a spare as it was pitch black lol. Once all my stuff was away I was watching the rod and seen a couple of little nods so picked it up and walked forward few more so struck in to a nice 2.4lb codling to end the night. Massive thanks to johnc off here for helping me get it up from the water and landing this one lol. His rod was still out so he started to reel in and he had something on, was an undersize codling with some kelp attached to it lol. Once we packed up we headed back to the car and I got back home for about 1.15. All in all a spot on night fishing and was glad to get a decent sized codling. Here is a pic of the fish
