Rich, I use 150mm dia by approx 700mm long
Tony, I had to "Break" the old rope to get it "Folded up" in a bag to dispose of as it was so Hard ....... (except for the area that went through the cleat as that was down to only 3mm dia anyway
)

apparently you need an octopus with a faint green tinge and a moustache to make your hands really soft !!!!
