sorry, cant post pictures...if anyone can explain how, I will!

By no means am I going to say now that the fishing was good yesterday...yes I admit...we have been damn lucky:)

Anyway...as always around the airshow I had a visitor from Germany for fishing.

After a disappointing trout fishing at Fontburn and a hazardous evening mackerel fishing on Saturday eve (big swell but good 100 mackerels), we gave it a go on Sunday morning.

it looked ok, water still cold at 13.5 deg but weventured straight to Zeeland at 6.5 miles and caught....nothing! That is a wreck where we caught always well....went north to A Beck and nothing, not a sniff...unbelievable in July, but we had a stupid N wind against an ebbdrift, which definitely does not help.

Next wreck (wont name it lol) and yuhuu, cod came up straight away...managed about 6 or 7 and also lost a few big ones , but as a highlight, Stephan brought a fine one up weighing 17lb and with 95cm was a long cod with a big head.

Had empty ovaries and relatively slim.....I reckon this cod was probably just back from spawning....Just imagine her weight before the spawn...fat and full of roe easily 25lb!!

Wind picked up...airshow in the background, Red Arrows painting a heart in the sky and Lancy/Hurri/Spitty doing the Battle of Britain above our heads, whilst the DFDS anchors next to us....

Not a bad day after all

nice one Norbert, we couldn't get out to the wrecks we wanted as I am sure there are a few more biggies to come out yet. I hope one of them is attached to my hook.

Is that the one mate?
