Mackreal

The mackerel have started moving off now, with the strong winds and colder nights you wont get many chances for them...so get yourself out soon.

Last year i had mackerel from Shields pier upto the 11th of Oct but we never had a great deal of North or North east winds.

At this time of year,as soon as we get a large sea that will colour the water you wont see them again in any great number until next year.

Bottom line, any pier and get down ASAP.

I have not been down the tyne but was told the water is bright red from the QE2 still??? not sure on that one mind.

Its the transitional time of the year now. Mackeral tend to move off and Cod and whitey move in.
I doubt any more will be caught on piers.
Haven,t seen any for the last couple of weeks i have been going down to Hartlepool and Roker.
No doubt i,ll probably be proved wrong.

Mick.

there was still plenty of Mackerel at Blyth Pier last weekend, however theres been a bit of sea on since so that might be it for this year, saying that there was still a few caught into Oct last year
