  • seahouses breakwater

a mate said he saw someone landing mackerel from seahouses breakwater at the weekend ( however he isnt a fisherman and is mildly delusional and prone to bouts of extreme porkie pie telling but what he described sounded like mackerel :P altough this was probably a wind up to be honest :P )

anyone heard reports of mackerel yet ??

and is the breakwater safe at high tide ???

    cheers lads

the breakwaters safe at high tide as long as its pretty calm.
(im assuming its been repaired since the last time i was on it about 15 yrs ago where it was damaged at the start & you had to go down to get back up , then wait for the tide to drop before you could get back off )
if any waves come over the top dont bother with it coz its pretty narrow and if they hit you , youll be in the drink.
i dont know about the mackeral but if by chance they are there you should be able to get them off the main harbour aswell which is safer.
you can get red cod off both shots too & flatties in the harbour.

More chance of them being coalies than Mackeral. Tend to show in the South of the area & the boats first.

I,m up at Seahouses regular and the breakwater is still the same as it was 15years ago. It is safe if the water is calm but only just. Up there last weekend and never heard of any mackerel being caught.

Strange post for your first post \"kipperfillet\" If you want to have a go at someone on NESA and \"try\" to take the p1ss try me mate.

I am not a new angler trying to find out what is going on so wouldn\'t mind it so much.

I can\'t understand why people like you use forums like this.

Where do you usually catch your \"makerel\" whatever they are. What time of year do they arrive.

              Jim.

Thats why I asked the where & what bait question. Thought the answer might be \"slimey sea slugs!\"

Yes ninga, still pmsl @ kipperfillets post but even moreso at yours.

You have been on here long enough to know now that a wind up is done between mates and not a total pee take against a new angler on an open forum.

He has had long enough to reply and has not, so as far as I am concerned it is not a wind up but just another dickhead taking the pee.

I also suspect that if anth knew who it was HE would have replied by now.

Unless of course YOU know better.

                        Jim.

Yeah your dead right Mick. Unfortunately it is the way that some of the pratts like to play mate.

If it is a case of a windup which I don\'t think it is as I can read, then maybe the person trying to be funny and a few other\'s will learn from it.

                            Jim.
