  • For Ian W and TC

Have just heard from Mr Charlton that he is up to page 68 and enjoying every minute. If you are a slow reader there is a scheme via the OFSTED programme whereby a junior school teacher will come and support you in your task, one who has paid, one costing a lot of ink, so that a certain R K Jowley can continue his pursuit of the early retirement and B&B in the Borders somewhere. Feedback is everything to us luvvies so get reading.

My version hasn\'t got page numbers on, David .......lol

BUT.......finally started reading it PROPERLY on Sunday afternoon and I\'m up to the chapter \"Cannons\".

Like Alan, I\'m really enjoying reading it David.
Many of the places I\'ve been reading about so far, I\'ve never even heard of, let alone been to.......THAT doesn\'t detract from the enjoyment one bit, though.

Be interested to know how confident you would feel about fishing the spots just based on the information in the book as that\'s its main purpose. Some of the marks make places like Cullercoats harhour (re other thread) seem like a picnic. Hope I\'ve got the terrain bit right.

            Sorry David.

Only got started on it on tuesday after the cullercoats thread. Thought to myself there\'s bound to be information in there, and there was.

Not very far into it as I say I only had a quick flit through the opening chapter.

Have had a look at the map you gave as well and some of them marks look like it\'s a bit of a scramble to get them.

Will attempt to get more read soon......will bring it in to work to read on my lunch breaks.
As my dad used to say....Man who go to bed with itchy bum......wake up with stinky finger!!!

A bit of a scramble is like Bonnington saying Everest was a bit of a walk. Pick the right day, however, nice and dry and sunny and the rocks are OK especially as most of them are above the high tide mark. Dangerous place on your own though, although I like fishing on my own. (MR NO MATES)

Is your book for sale or are these just previews?
I love mark books and my collection is missing one for up here. I\'m not local (born) so a book detailing marks would be great.

I look forward to its release.

Bit of negotiating going on at the moment - Rod has held back from booking anything as the small matter of me being 50 on the 23 July seems to be getting in the way (can\'t imagine why), especially with the wife. Will sort things out as soon as possible and let you know.
