  • best place for rod repairs

    where's the best place to get my greys platinum xs repaired, ive smashed the third eye from the tip, and how much should i expect to pay.

    I've just had a new eye put on at Lewis's and it cost about £8
    Best shore caught fish:- Pollock 6lb+ Beadnell, 9lb 8oz Cod Blyth Beach

                Rod Repair

                Had to take my 14' mk2 Apollo in for repairs to three rings.Took it to Temples,Frasers,Lewis don't know who actualy carried out the repairs but they did a top notch job couldn't spot the rings which had been replaced.

                  yes the guy that whips the rods for frazers has whipped 5 rods for me over the years and and can't fault his work and would recommend him every time and your not able tell his work from those whipped by the makers

                    my rods in ids at the min and that need all new eyes that was £60 but havent got it back yet so we will see how good of job he dose

                      I think the fella you're referring to is the gentleman that passed away not long ago as he also did my Conoflex last year

                      There must be a different guy doing it all now

                        yes theres a new rod builder for lewis tackle (dont know his name) ive seen his work as he done simons and davys century eliminators exellent finish ive got a rod that needs rebuild and ill be getting him to do it a1

                          I know a guy called George (can't remember what he goes by on here) who does them for Billy's in North Shields. He lives near killingworth I think and would probs meet you if you wanted it doing. I got my conoflex highlander done off him and he done an amazing job. You can contact him on 07782130301
